About
The Jefferies Australia Investment Banking Winter Internship provides students with an unparalleled experience within the investment banking industry. The program will be offered from June through to July, during which time interns have 4 weeks of work experience to develop a diverse range of technical and analytical skills and apply these in real-world situations for Jefferies’ clients. Our intern program is designed for students interested in pursuing a career in investment banking. This is an excellent opportunity to complete a winter internship and then to be invited back to complete a summer internship. Our interns have a strong track record of being offered a graduate Analyst position the following year.
Outstanding penultimate year candidates will be invited to attend the annual Jefferies In-House Cocktail Evening. This event is a unique opportunity for students to meet with senior members of the Jefferies team and gain a deeper understanding of our activity in the Australian market. The evening will include a brief Q&A session offering further insight into what it is like working at Jefferies as well as a general networking session with the broader team over refreshments. The event is also a key component of assessing candidates for its winter and summer internship programs.

The Jefferies’ Australia team structure affords Interns the opportunity to work closely with our founding bankers and senior leadership on the origination and execution of both public market and private transactions. Interns will experience working in a team with global connectivity and be part of an exciting and growing platform in the Australian market.

Candidate Qualities
Ambitious and passionate candidates with an interest in finance, investment banking and securing a career at Jefferies should apply. You must have a strong academic record and although a background in finance, economics or accounting is a plus, we will hire interns who have studied across a variety of disciplines.
Candidates who apply should be completing their penultimate year and be seeking a 2025 Winter Internship with a pipeline to a graduate position in 2027.
This is an exciting opportunity for STEM students or women studying a degree in finance to immerse themselves in the finance sector and learn more about investment banking.
