Arbitrage Detection

Game Rules

Each question presents decimal odds for a matchup between two teams. Your task is to determine whether these odds create an arbitrage opportunity.

  • If an arbitrage opportunity exists, select "Arb".

  • If no arbitrage opportunity exists, select "No Arb".

For each correct answer, you earn one point (+1), and for each incorrect answer, two points are deducted (-2).

How to detect an arbitrage

An arbitrage opportunity exists if the sum of the implied probabilities for both outcomes is less than one.

Example

If Team A Odds = 2.00 and Team B Odds = 2.50:

  • Implied probability for Team A = 1 / 2.00 = 0.50

  • Implied probability for Team B = 1 / 2.50 = 0.40

Since 0.50 + 0.40 = 0.90 < 1, an arbitrage opportunity exists!
